  Kimberly Tyson, Ph.D.
Kimberly
founded Learning Unlimited, LLC, in 1999. She,
as well as several highly-respected literacy associates, consults with
schools and corporations in Indiana and
nationally through videoconferencing. She
has been a part of projects with the
Indiana Department of Education, the
HOPE
Foundation, the
Central
Indiana Education Service Center and other
educational service centers in Indiana and
nationally.
With over twenty years
experience in the field of
education, Dr. Tyson is well-equipped to meet
your needs. She has been a classroom
teacher, professor and educational consultant in
classrooms ranging from kindergarten to the
graduate level.
Her
expertise
is in literacy, specifically Reading. She holds
a Reading Specialist Certification and earned a
doctorate in Reading Education from the
University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition
to teaching, she has collaborated in writing
classroom curriculum and has written language
arts sections for a standardized test series.
Dr. Tyson oversees
The
Literacy Lens™
review process. In addition, she provides technical assistance to
Title I schools, works in a coaching and guiding
capacity to principals, literacy coaches, and
teachers, and delivers on-site workshops on a
wide variety of literacy and language arts
topics.
Kimberly
keeps current in the field by active
participation in several regional and national
reading, curriculum, and professional
development associations. She is the past
President of the Indiana Staff Development
Council and Vice President of the Hamilton
County Reading Council, an affiliate of the
International Reading Association.
Whether Dr.
Tyson is working with developing readers or
principals, administrators, or teachers, she
expects and delivers
results.
