Learning Unlimited seeks to meet
your school's needs by providing
on-site or virtual customized workshops
that meet your school's reading
and language arts goals.
We will work with you to
determine if a single workshop
or a series of workshops best
meets your professional
development goals.
Knowing that a workshop is just
a workshop - Dr. Tyson seeks to
provide
informative, engaging, and
research-based
instructional strategies (that
teachers can use tomorrow)!
Participants apply the
strategies to their classroom
setting and work with colleagues
throughout workshops.
Workshop handouts are available
on the website 24/7 for teachers
to access and use in the
classroom. Handouts, templates,
professional resources, and
templates are updated often!
Teacher's who have been
participants in Dr. Kimberly's
workshops leave feeling that
they've received new tools and
strategies in their "toolkit"
ready to use in their classroom.
Read feedback from teachers and
principals who
have attended recent workshops.

Kimberly Tyson models the Fluency
Development Lesson
by Tim
Rasinski
Modeling and coaching are powerful
learning strategies. Teachers sometimes
need classroom modeling when
incorporating new instructional
strategies and lesson designs. Learning
Unlimited staff are familiar with going
directly into classrooms and working
with teachers and students when
initiating new literacy strategies.
|
Often rewarding and
meaningful work is accomplished through
working with small teams. Learning
Unlimited reading specialists can meet with small groups such as
Title I staff, Instructional Assistants,
primary grade teachers, middle or high
school teachers. By meeting with
small groups, they can address the
individual challenges of each of these
groups.
|
Thoughtful, coordinated program planning
leads to results - a reading curriculum
alone cannot lead to reading success.
Dr. Tyson will lead a team of
experienced, professional educators to
conduct a research-based literacy review that can help you
learn more about: literacy instruction,
classroom libraries, student work,
reading curriculum, and student data.
The results assist leadership teams in
making informed, data-driven literacy
goals. |
|
Learning Unlimited associates work with
Literacy Coaches and Principals on an
ongoing basis throughout the school
year. Literacy Coaches need
ongoing professional development and
training in order to serve the school
staff. Learning Unlimited provides
professional development and other
services both coaches and principals.
Training in assessments, coaching
teachers, guided reading, and literacy
classroom walkthroughs are just a few of
the areas and ways we work with coaches
and principals to build and sustain
literacy growth. |
